Montgomery Business Hall of Fame luncheon, October 27, 2016
I just want to take a few moments to say Thank You. I am honored and humbled to be recognized by the Business Hall of Fame, and I strongly support its mission of raising money for the scholarship fund here at the Universities at Shady Grove.
If it weren’t for education and people willing to help me when I came to this country as a very young man, I would not be where I am today. I know first-hand that education helps people reach their potentials, get good jobs and make their communities stronger.
Education for our young people is a bridge to a brighter future for all of us, and the Universities at Shady Grove provides an important bridge to that future.
I try to live and guided by the phrase as President Kennedy said, “To whom much is given, much is expected.” We have done very well, and should invest in others by giving them ladders of opportunity to succeed. I firmly believe the Business Hall of Fame is a great way to do it.
Again, thank you for this honor.
